February 20, 2018 marks the 10th year founding anniversary of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines with the theme, “Sampung Taong Tanglaw ng San Juaneño, Isang Dekada ng Edukasyong Mapagbago,” as RD Jose B. Patalinjug III delivered his inspiring convocation remarks amongst school administration, faculty, students, San Juan City Mayor Hon. Guia Gomez, former PUP President Dr. Dante Guevarra, Assistant Vice President Dr. Norberto Catumay of PUP and PUP San Juan Director Jaime P. Gutierrez, Jr., and guests.

RD Patalinjug said, “think outside the box and reach beyond, do not limit yourself, and be the catalyst of change.” He also quoted that “So many people walk around with meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.—Tuesday’s with Morrie, Mitch Albom”

After the convocation, DOST-NCR and the City of San Juan signs a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) as DOST-NCR donated new equipment to help enhance PUP-San Juan’s Hospitality Management and Home Economics Kitchen Laboratory.
